CPD videos
A library of bitesize CPD videos are
included as part of a Rocket Phonics Online
subscription. Hosted by Rocket Phonics
author Abigail Steel, the videos include
useful tips and guidance providing a
helpful starting point for implementing
Rocket Phonics. Topics include pedagogy,
assessment and reading books. In addition
to the videos, we recommend that schools
complete 1- day of CPD training with Abigail
Steel Training.
Actions and ditties (Ages 3–4 only)
Rocket Phonics First Steps uses key pictures
accompanied by ditties and actions. The
pictures provide a visual and oral mnemonic to
help learners recall the focus letter-sound.
The materials are clear, linear and
distraction free and the small, cumulative
steps benefit all pupils. Teacher workload
in relation to phonics tuition is significantly
reduced as all of the materials and lesson
plans are readily available and easily
accessible. We would highly recommend
the Rocket Phonics programme!
